  1. 8.  Hector D. (Joseph Hector) Galarneau was born on 18 Jan 1893 in Hull (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce),Québec,Canada; was christened on 22 Jan 1893 in Hull (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce),Québec,Canada (son of John Galarneau and Mary Dunlevy); died on 5 Aug 1987 in Pine Lake, Minnesota; was buried in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

    Notes:

    Strange Doings

    Hector born 18 Jan 1893 baptised 23 Jan 1893

On 30 Jan 1894 parents register Canada birth of James Galarneau in Cambridge, Mass. stating birth 23 Jan 1893. Don't know why this US register of birth unless for immigration purposes. This shows a birth 5 days after Hector. So assume it refers to Hector.

Stranger still a Guibert Galarneau is born in Hull, Quebec on 20 JUN 1894 6 months after James birth registration or 1.5 years after Hector's birth.

Then 5 months later, on 20 NOV 1894 in Hull there is a death of their infant of 5 months. The name is stated to be Hector not Guibert even though Hector is going on 2 years.

Guibert is heard no more after this but Hector goes on even though he has been buried.

Maybe had something to do with the Immigration Restriction League that was founded in 1894 and feelings at the time.
